I'm not going to catch up. Two more pages were added while I was reading the last one. So, I'll post without reading the thread first. Rude of me, I know.
For compensation,.. I'm thinking the Christmas 2014 bundle. Maybe in the Christmas 2015 bundle, "one metric unit of whine"?
Well, I hope the servers are back up soon. |

That'll teach me to drink milk while reading this thread.
I, literally, very nearly spewed chocolate milk all over my laptop.
Thumbs up.
Enslaved Mistress wrote:A guy finds his dog with the neighbor's pet rabbit in its mouth. The rabbit is dead and the guy panics. He takes the dirty, chewed up rabbit into the house. He gives it a bath, blow dries its fur, and puts it back into the cage at the neighbor's house, hoping they will think it died of natural causes.
A few days later, the neighbor asks the guy, "Did you hear that Fluffy died?"
The guy stammers and says, "Um... no... what happened?"
The neighbor replies, "We found him dead in his cage one day, but the weird thing is that the day after we buried him, someone had dug him up, gave him a bath and put him back into the cage. There are some real sick people out there!"

How about you do this crap in another timezone for once.
Servers are down for every TimeZone
She means, how about doing it so it inconveniences a different "prime time". I mean, it's mid-morning here. I only noticed the extended downtime because I was going to log in and make a quick adjustment before going to work.
That is a fair point. I benefit greatly from DT always occurring during the AM. Of course, I'm also, PROBABLY in the largest single demographic that plays this game, North Americans.
I, for one, would be okay with DT being determined each time by a roll of the dice. Or on a rotation. Of course, the techs who like having regular hours might not feel so enthusiastic. |

Alden Radd wrote:Holy Crap, Batman! It's lints in the servers!!
That'd do it, but it would usually take a few hours of uptime for the reduced airflow to be a factor. |

CCP didn't rat up the index on the server room - and someone came and Entosis'ed it during downtime.
Of COURSE they "Entosis'ed" it during downtime! The servers are invulnerable to entosis the rest of the time. |

If I read the patch notes right, they weren't going to be reinforced, anyway. New mechanics. |

Wur2e wrote:Does someone have a backup on floppy's in here?
I do. Odd. It's only 1Kb in size... Opening it up in a hex editor and I find all it says is "Backup failed"
That's okay, though. The source is all together...scattered across the back halves of those stacks of thirty year old computing magazines. |

I bet, when it's finally figured out, it'll prove to be very simple.
for the want of a semicolon, a table was lost. For the want of a table, a database was lost. For the want of a database, a server was lost. For the want of a server, a game day was lost. And all for the want of a semicolon.

I'm all for refueling Devs, just so long as they don't come to think "break EVE = free pizza" lol Wish I had pizza...
Nah. It's break EVE = lose your day to fixing EVE. |

Earlier I suggested "a metric unit of whine" for the Christmas 2015 bundle. Now I want "a slice of stale pizza from the Great Crash of 2015" in the Christmas bundle. ...that is, if you do a Christmas bundle this year like you did last year. No reason to expect it, since the year before wasn't so...nor, I believe, the year before that... |

Video game goes dark for a day. Mysteriously, orders of pizza across the globe increase. Food preference analysts baffled. Investigation to follow.
P.S. I've just decided what I'm going to eat for dinner. Care to guess? |
